Occupational Therapy

Helps children improve gross and fine motor delays, sensory dysfunction, executive functioning deficits, and visual/perceptual deficits. Our occupational services are provided by professionals who have experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

Speech Therapy

Helps children improve articulation delay, language delay, oral motor disorder, feeding difficulties, and phonological disorders.

Kathryn Ewell, OT

As an undergraduate, Kathryn Ewell studied Occupational Therapy at UW-Madison. She moved to the Baltimore area to complete her degree requirements and became connected with Kennedy Krieger Institute. At KKI, Kathryn worked in a school setting providing OT services to students with autism 10-21 years of age. Moving to a clinical setting, Kathryn expanded her therapeutic services to include early intervention. In 2013, Kathryn continued to her education and became a board certified behavior analyst who practices ABA.

Lori Sova, SLP

Lori is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist with over 30+ years of experience working with infants through adults with a variety of disorders/disabilities.  Lori earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from SUNY at Fredonia, summa cum laude.  She earned her Masters of Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Vanderbilt University.  Lori has provided individual and group speech-language services in private practice, clinical/medical and school-based settings.  She has advanced and specialized training in many areas included motor speech disorders (including Childhood Apraxia of Speech) and communication difficulties related to variety of disabilities/disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome and Language-Based Learning disabilities. Through a flexible and child-driven service delivery model, Lori’s goal is to support, educate, and nurture children and families to improve the child’s functional communication skills and their underlying language skills to maximize his/her academic potential.

Sara Shoff M.S., CCC-SLP

Sara Shoff M.S., CCC-SLP is a certified speech-language pathologist specializing in assessment and treatment within the pediatric population.   She has over 15 years of experience in the treatment of children and adolescents ages 6 months – 18 years diagnosed with a variety of speech-language disorders including: childhood apraxia of speech, articulation delay, language delay, language disorder, oral motor disorder/dysfunction, feeding difficulties, and phonological disorder.  Additionally, she has extensive experience in treating complex language impairments associated with autism spectrum disorder and has successfully developed and implemented functional communication systems for children with significantly impaired speech production/language output.   Along with this experience, Sara is trained in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets), VB methodology (Verbal Behavior), LAMP (Language Acquisition through Motor Planning), OPT (Oral Placement Therapy),(Developmental, Individual differences, Relationship-based), and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System). Sara earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Penn State University in 2002 and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Towson University in 2004.
